Scott McTominay has been one of the regular starters on the Scottish squad. Recently, Scott was injured in a match and his status for the Euro 2020 has been up in the air. During the Boxing Day win over Newcastle. McTominay suffered from a knee ligament injury.
At half time of this match, he was taken out for the rest of the match. He has not returned since. His coaches have said that he will be out for a few months, so that he can heal and be ready for the Euro 2020 matches.
McTominay wants to try to get Scotland back into the Euro 2020 matches. It has been 22 years since they have been in a major final. McTominay may not be able to help with his injury being worse than he first expected.
McTominay was born in England, but he qualifies for the Scottish team because his father is Scottish. He came to football in March of 2018. He is 23 years old and has 12 caps for his season.
Scott would like to be back with Manchester United and playing as soon as he can. His coach mentioned that he is a strong player that they really miss on the field right now. His coach is saying a few weeks, but some reports are saying months.
McTominay will not let this get him down, however, he has been posting positive and uplifting posts on Instagram lately. He is staying very upbeat and positive while he is healing.
McTominay has started for Manchester United 17 games. He is one of the best players on this team as well. Losing him is a hard blow to the squad for sure. It gives this team stability in the midfield and this is where they really need it too.
Scott has only missed three Premier League games, and he will miss some for the Scottish team and for the Euro 2020 Championships, where he is really needed.

Another news report says he could be out for two to three months. The Bleacher Report says that he will be out for up to 4 weeks. McTominay is set to return a little bit quicker than what he initially thought, however, Scott McTominay’s coach and doctors want to make sure he is 100% before he goes back onto the field. The worst thing to do is to reinjure himself.
As of January 15, 2020, there has been an update on Scott McTominay’s condition. His coach reported that Scott is expected to be returning to play sometime in February.
Manchester United has just lost Harry Maguire due to a hip injury that will require surgery. So, the news of McTominay coming back in February is great news to all fans.
